There are some DJs that, when you don't get your fill of them on a regular basis, you just miss. Felix the Dog and Dr. Xeno are exactly this kind of DJ. Charismatic on both a personal and musical level - you can't help but love them. Opening tonight is Oem Radio/Dub-Beautiful founder Maer - the man has got some serious downtempo stylings for the ear. Definitely worth getting there early for. The umlaut atop this circle? Qoöl residents Hyper D, Mark Musselman, and Spesh.

"CRuX, recently formed by [e] and Kevin Knapp, is a scene crossing party endeavor that bridges dance communities that normally party in completely separate domains.  The point is to bring peeps together who just play and enjoy freakin' good music." Well, that couldn't be more of a perfect fit for Qoöl if we tried. Residents Gil, Mark Musselman, and Jondi also in the house tonight.

Getting to Minna early today is an absolute must (and not just because it's free before 6pm). Qoöl first-timers Dcoy and Masonic (featuring a live upright bassist) are not to be missed. Then hold on tight because resident A-teamers Hyper D, Jondi, Scott Carrelli, and Spesh will take you exactly where you need to go.

Take a deep breath, because this is the first installment in a fresh new quarter of Qoöl. Brian Cox, DJ Tarkan (Swift, No Smoking Records, Turkey), and Lick the DJ combine to make sure that the standard of quality is set as high as possible for the next three months. Ah, the elusive September 28 Qoöl. So elusive, in fact, it took us until September 16 to add it to our events page. Norman H returns from across the pond, Zach DeVincent returns from the 5-6pm slot (movin' on up!), and everyone's favorite birthday boy (besides Guiv of course), will be bringing it home as only he can. I mean really. If this isn't a match made in heaven than records don't go with turntables, cookies don't go with milk, and Jondi doesn't go with Spesh. Sinukus, Tim McCormack, and Jonathan Beech throw themselves into the mix with rezzies Mark Musselman and Gil for a funkyqoölzy night all around.

Fööperqoöl? Sööperfoöl? (now that has a nice ring to it). Maybe F is for guests would be more appropriate. Future BC downs the tempo, Floorcraft and Forest Green up it, and Frank Murder straight from Iceland (and live at that)....well, you'll just have to wait and see. With Hyper D, Jondi, and Spesh thrown in the mix - this is a Qoöl that (take it from us) is not to be missed. You couldn't dodge it if you tried.

Nutbass Records celebrates it's newest release, and the rebirth of Billy Casazza (the artist formally known as Farmboy). With the chillest of the chill opening set by Ambi-Sonic's Dallas, and Hyper D, Scott Carrelli, and Jondi on on the residents team (well, Scott technically straddles both sides of the fence with this line-up), the first Wednesday in July doesn't get any more nut-tastic.

All Spesh, all night. Need we say more?

If you aren't familiar with Soundcard (who hosts a Thursday monthly at 111 Minna), you should be. The Soundcard DJs will bring their unique styles head-to-head with Hyper D, Jondi, and honorary Qoöl rezzie and all around fabulous DJ and guy, Hoj.
